Toure Injury Threatens Cyclones' Season | Big 12 Basketball News

The Iowa State Cyclones are bracing for a tough season without key losses like Tamin Lipsey and Milan Momcilovic, but they’re counting on returning star Killyan Toure to lead the charge—only to hit a major setback when he reportedly injured his shoulder at a Damian Lillard camp. Already dealing with offseason shoulder issues, Toure’s health is critical since he’s expected to fill Lipsey’s shoes as a top-tier defensive anchor and offensive spark. While his absence would be a blow, depth in the backcourt—with transfers Jaquan Johnson (Defensive Player of the Year) and Ryan Prather Jr., plus rising talents like Jamarion Batemon—could help carry the load. The Cyclones’ fate hinges on whether Toure can recover in time, but they’ve got options if he can’t go full throttle from day one.
