Tourism Tuesday: North Mountain Vineyard & Winery

We took a little road trip to record today's conversation. I met up with Kary Haun from Shenandoah County Tourism at North Mountain Vineyard & Winery last week to chat with owner, Krista Foster about the vineyard/winery and learn the details of their "Oktober Wein Festival" happening on Saturday, October 8, 2022. Krista gave us a bit of history for the vineyard & winery and talked about the fact that they're celebrating 40 years this year. To honor the 40th anniversary of North Mountain's first vine planting, they will be offering wagon rides pulled by beautiful Bavarian Haflinger Horses during their Oktoberfest Celebration on October 8 from 1pm - 4pm. The 20-minute ride through the scenic vineyards will end with a photo-op meet and greet with the horses. The wagon will accommodate up to 8 people and there are only 50 tickets available. Each ride is $20 per person which includes a glass of wine for adults or soda/water for minors, served after the ride.
