Streamed live, the inaugural session buzzed with anticipation as the call for 'Naari shakti vandan adhiniyam' (Women's Reservation Act) echoed through the chambers. India's stark gender imbalance in the Lok Sabha, with just one in seven parliamentarians being a woman, in contrast to one in four parliamentarians being a woman globally,  made this bill crucial.
