In psychology, Terry Kupers, defines TOXIC MASCULINITY as "the constellation of socially regressive male traits that serve to foster domination, the DEVALUATION OF WOMEN, HOMOPHOBIA and wanton violence". Some suggest as a society we must rid ourselves of TOXIC MASCULINITY as it will help alleviate the RAPE CULTURE that is said to exist among men. However, within the AFRICAN-AMERICAN community some are concerned that there is an agenda behind the term TOXIC MASCULINITY in order to ensure BLACK MEN in particular are devoid of masculinity. With the recent situations with BILL COSBY, R KELLY, & MICHAEL JACKSON have BLACK MEN become the face of TOXIC MASCULINITY? Are some BLACKS skirting the issue to avoid discussing inappropriate behavior that needs to discontinue in the BLACK COMMUNITY? Could it be both? MENTAL DIALOGUE asking the questions America's afraid to ask. ALL I ASK IS THAT YOU THINK
