I got to spend a lunch break with Steve Monroe, the owner, creator and screen printer behind Toxic Roots, a clothing brand inspired by living 20+ years in a neighborhood built on top of a former WWII military dumpsite in the South Patrick Shores area of Satellite Beach. We all have Toxic baggage. Physical, emotional, environmental, or traumatic these Toxic Roots shape who we are. Our goal is to highlight these issues through art, humor, and a dash of sarcasm. I spoke to Steve about what made him want to start the brand based on living on Florida's little beachside dump. We spoke about the moment he realized he had a brand there.
