Well if you haven’t heard by now it is official! And I couldn’t be any more excited in case you couldn’t tell. Last Thursday Disney Pixar came out with the news that Toy Story 4 was officially on its way. John Lasseter who directed Toy Story and Toy Story 2 will be reprising his role as director for the newest installment of the Toy Story Franchise. The idea for the film came from not only Lasseter, but Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter, and Lee Unkrich. These are the same people who came up with the story for all the past three toy story films. John Lasseter was quoted saying,”We love these characters so much; they are like family to us,we don’t want to do anything with them unless it lives up to or surpasses what’s gone before. Toy Story 3ended Woody and Buzz’s story with Andy so perfectly that for a long time, we never even talked about doing another Toy Story movie. But when Andrew, Pete, Lee and I came up with this new idea, I just could not stop thinking about it. It was so exciting to me, I knew we had to make this movie—and I wanted to direct it myself.” You can expect to see Toy Story 4 on it’s release date of June 16,2017. On Tuesday December 2 of this year Woody and the gang embark on a new adventure in the Disney Pixar Holiday Special,”Toy Story That Time Forgot.” The special was originally planned to be a six minute short, but John Lasseter suggested it be made into holiday special.
