The Toyota Mobility Foundation and the City of Detroit announced three winners of the Sustainable Cities Challenge on April 23, 2026, concluding a three-year competition to accelerate sustainable urban mobility solutions in Detroit's Eastern Market.The three winning companies are Civilized Cycles, an electric cargo vehicle manufacturer scaling ultra-light semi-trikes for last-mile delivery; ElectricFish Energy, deploying a 400 kilowatt battery-integrated fast charger for EV fleets; and Neology, a clean energy startup demonstrating ammonia-to-hydrogen power systems with over ten live demonstrations producing 300 kilowatt-hours of clean energy.Each winner previously received $180,000 in implementation funding and will now share $1.5 million to scale their solutions. Detroit is the only Western Hemisphere city chosen for the Challenge, alongside Venice, Italy and Varanasi, India.
