TPOE 102: Slow Moving Clouds
from The Point of Everything · host The Point Of Everything
Slow Moving Clouds have just released one of the most interesting albums of the year, Starfall. Mixing Nordic and Irish traditional elements, there's touches of the Gloaming but, overall, it sounds like nothing else I've heard in 2018. It's their second album, and follows their soundtracking Swan Lake/Loch na hEala, a production that's toured the world. They've played and collaborated with the National and various other esteemed acts, and have released Starfall on the People streaming platform. I talked to one third of the band, Kevin Murphy (cello/vocals) about the creation of Starfall, how the band came together and the sound developed, and their journey through music over the past couple of years.
