TPOE 190: Myles Manley

from The Point of Everything · host The Point Of Everything

Sligo artist Myles Manley released his second (maybe, depending) album, Cometh the Softies, in November 2020. He says the album aims to "navigate the likes of nationalism, capitalism and sexuality via the language of playground bullying". With esoteric titles like 'I Heard Your Mum Call, Michael', 'Shiteshow' and 'Billy Drag vs Ed Sheercunt', it's a more direct hit, over just 26 minutes, than Myles Manley's previous work. Speaking from his temporary home in Delaware, Myles discusses the creation of the album before going back to the start of the 'Myles Manley' project, taking in open mic nights, discovering his voice and figuring out the creative process. We talk about all that plus sexuality, his Aaa video series from 2020 and missing gigs. Outro music: Myles Manley - 'Were We Under Attack From England?'
