TPOE 247: The Murder Capital, Out of Place

On the first episode of 2023, Damien Tuit, guitarist in the Murder Capital, joins to talk about their great second album Gigi's Recovery - and being from Rosscarbery, West Cork. We talk about how the band started, the impact of debut album When I Have Fears, and making the new album amid Covid lockdowns. Murder Capital play Vicar Street on February 26. 34.23: Graham Patterson is the director of Out of Place, a music documentary about Limerick City from the team behind Féile na Gréine festival. A meditation on the role music plays in building community, Out of Place seeks to explore the tensions that emerge when musicians struggle to carve out a space for themselves in their city. It features performances from and interviews with Denise Chaila, God Knows, Murli Hey Rusty, His Father’s Voice, and Post Punk Podge. The film is going to be shown around Ireland in the next month.
