The U.S Supreme Court has ruled in favor of the Trump Administration in ending Temporary Protected Status for hundreds of thousands of Haitians and Syrians in the country which potentially could lead to deportations. The International Rescue Committee is trying to counter this setback. Hans Van de Weerd is the IRC Senior Vice President of Resettlement, Asylum and Integration. He shares insight on the current plight of those impacted and how misinformation is shaping perception of TPS holders. It's awful and the symptoms include explosive diarrhea. The current cyclosporiasis outbreak has been identified in more than half of the United States, but it's not exactly clear as to its origin other than lettuce. Jodie Guest, professor and senior vice chair in the department of epidemiology at Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health talks about keeping your household safe and how the Centers for Disease Control under the Trump administration was forced to cut back on its surveillance network for several pathogens, including cyclospora.
