Trae Young is Misunderstood

Trae Young hasn’t declined as a player. What’s changed is the way teams are built — and the expectations placed on players in a second-apron era where cap integrity and role alignment matter more than ever. I break down why Trae’s desire to maximize his next contract is rational, why rebuilding teams and competitive teams view him differently, and how misunderstanding player value — not talent decline — is prevalent in NBA discourse. This episode is about team-building principles, player roles, and why talent doesn’t change nearly as often as perception does.
