Traffic Safety Thursday: Motor Vehicle Operations (part 2)

from The Valley Today · host Janet Michael

Our conversation today for Traffic Safety Thursday with Lt. Warren Gosnell from Frederick County (VA) Sheriff's Office was a continuation of our February show where we discussed motor vehicle operations. Lt. Gosnell explained various situations and how drivers should react when being pulled over for a traffic stop. He reiterated the importance of understanding the traffic laws within the Commonwealth of Virginia when it comes to checkpoints, compliance, and the realization that driving in this state is a privilege, not a right. We talked about the thousands of videos that can be found on the internet of people reacting in different ways based on their particular state laws that are most times, not the same as Virginia and he encouraged people to be familiar with what to do before, during and after a traffic stop.  To hear other conversations from our monthly series, click here.
