Traffic Safety Thursday: Patience, Checkpoints, & Holiday Safety

from The Valley Today · host Janet Michael

We were live in the studio for today's Traffic Safety Thursday conversation with Lt. Warren Gosnell from Frederick County Sheriff's Office. After we worked through the technical difficulties - Goz to the rescue - we talked about all things holiday. Lt. Gosnell talked about the increased traffic on the roadways as people are out and about going to holiday functions and getting their shopping done. He encouraged listeners to practice their patience and pay extra attention now that it's also getting dark earlier. He told us about checkpoints that will be coming over the Christmas holiday and explained why they do them, how they work, and the importance of preventing an accident in any way possible. We talked about all the ways that a driver can be impaired and he offered suggestions for making smarter choices before getting behind the wheel.
