Trailblazers: Women in Renewable Energy

from My Mentor · host Edidiong Idang

Renewable energy are usable energy derived from replenishable sources such as the Sun (solar energy), wind (wind power), rivers (hydroelectric power), hot springs (geothermal energy), tides (tidal power), and biomass (biofuels). These different sources of energy are completely opposite of the other types of energy we have used in the past. Scientist have revealed that for the past 150 years, humans have relied heavily on coal, oil, and other fossil fuels to power everything from light bulbs to cars to factories and these have had terrible consequences on the climate and of course our collective wellbeing. All thanks to technology. Knowing how blessed Africa is in terms of its population and leveraging on the vast natural resources that abound, women are encouraged to explore entrepreneurial opportunities in this sector. Our guest provided some strategies on how to succeed in the space as well as some numeric forecast of income that could be generated from this sector. Listen and explore.
