Transfiguration - track 7 - Stages of Life Innocence (Dave Hart) Harp music from Lauda (Bill Klein) When I look into the eyes of a new born baby, I pray that the Lord will keep them from all that will defile their soul and spirit. I long for Jesus to take them by the hand, keep them in body soul and mind and make them men and women after God’s heart. May the Lord guard and guide them as they grow, Open their hearts to the wonder of His grace keep them seeking Him with all their being and fill them with insights into the heart of the Lord. For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty saviour. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” For He is the Alpha and the Omega, Who sees the end from the beginning, yet walks with us through every delay and obstacle from the moment we are conceived to the moment He calls us home to glory. Thank You Lord that You delight to reveal Yourself to the very young and the very old just as much as to those who are in the prime of life. Bring joy to Your Son, Lord God, as babies are born into the world. Be with all midwives and doctors. Bless them with compassion as well as skill for the women whom they serve. I pray for young people who are facing pressures that are far beyond their years. Guide them through the turbulence of growth and change. Pour out Your blessing on every church and organisation that is reaching out to young people for Christ. We pray “Grace” in Jesus’ name for teenagers as they ride the swirling tides of adolescence. May they venture safely out on the cresting breakers of life. Guide these leaders of tomorrow’s Churches in the choices they must make. Keep their hearts wide open to You, and to each other. Favour them with mothers and fathers in Christ. Help them to overcome the spirit of the age, and to extend Your kingdom in this world. Come afresh into the hearts of those who were brought up believing, but who have wandered away. let disappointment not harden into unbelief. Remind them that You are there – the waiting Father, eager for them to bow their hearts and bend their knee. Overcome the passions that bewitch the heart, and the strongholds that bind the mind, restoring the language of love and the passion of faith.
