Matthai Centre for Educational Innovation (1996–2017) at IIM Ahmedabad, has had an illustrious career in education and psychology. He has been a Visiting Scholar at the University of Michigan and has extensively researched educational innovation, first-generation learners, and entrepreneurial opportunities in education. Prof. Sharma designed and taught the PGP course Enterprise and Innovation in Education and contributed to management development programs for educators. He has worked on projects for organizations like Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), Department for International Development (DFID), and India's National Literacy Mission and authored the book Not by Grades Alone on innovative schools.
