Transforming Our Son's Eczema: The Power of Diverse Eating for Gut and Skin Health

from Geta’s Digest Podcast · host Geta’s Digest

I'm sharing my personal experience with our son's eczema and provide insights into managing the condition in children. I wanted to emphasize the importance of understanding the causes and symptoms of eczema, as well as the impact of birth stories on eczema as a chronic illness development. I discusses the challenges I personally had in breastfeeding and the role of bathing and skincare routines in managing eczema. I'm also giving guidance on introducing solid foods and the timing of food introductions.  I highlight the benefits of introducing new foods in the morning and share a personal story of an allergic reaction to eggs. With so much dietary restrictions, especially when our kids develop eczema, I put an emphasis & dispel misconception about milk and eczema, highlighting the essential vitamins and fats in milk for brain development. Truly want to encourage parents to come back to the basics and trust the body's natural processes. Takeaways: -Understanding the causes and symptoms of eczema is crucial for effective management. -Bathing and skincare routines play a significant role in managing eczema. -Introducing solid foods should be done gradually and in a specific order to allow the body to develop antibodies. -Timing of food introductions, such as in the morning, can optimize digestion and absorption. -Monitoring and observing the body's response to new foods is essential in managing eczema. Introduce new foods gradually and give the body time to adjust. -Milk is important for brain development and should not be eliminated from a child's diet. -Misconceptions about milk and eczema can lead to unnecessary restrictions. -Animal milk, including cow's milk, has been a part of human diets for thousands of years and provides essential nutrients.
