Transit Unplugged News Minute: Paris generates power from turnstiles

Bloomberg reports a two-day experiment at a Paris metro station, where passenger turnstiles were turned into turbines that converted kinetic energy to electricity. If turbines were implemented across the entire Paris metro network, they could produce 136 megawatts a year, saving 30, 000 tons of CO2.
