All change requires transition but we often tend to skip over the transition, or at the very least, move through it unaware. Because sometimes transition is uncomfortable. But transition is a wonderful invitation to be in the present moment. It’s a great opportunity for us to slow down, reflect, process and let go of our past, so that we can move into the future (or the next now moment) with presence, wholeness and joy. If we skip the transition, we carry over the baggage of our past. We forget and leave parts of ourselves behind. We bypass the feeling of completion, tying the knot at the end of the thread so that the sweater doesn’t unravel. Transitions are a wise teacher. Sometimes uncomfortable as they may carry the grief of letting go and the anxiety of not knowing what is to come. But stay with the transition and feel all the feelings that arise in it, and you will walk into your future whole and ready for all the ways in which life might choose to surprise you.
