The Madison Police Department’s internal affairs unit releases a quarterly report summarizing the investigations that led to discipline during that time. But you have to file an open records request if you want any details on individual cases…or the investigations that didn’t lead to discipline at all. On this edition of “Transparency Talk”, hosts Chali Pittman and Tom Kamenick describe the struggles of obtaining those additional records, and Chali’s recent Isthmus article on just one of the cases found within.
