TRAPPED IN SIN-PT. 19-OF THE IGNORANCE THAT GOD GIVES THE POOR & NEEDY POWER TO SUBDUE ITS ENEMIES!

IN THIS MESSAGE WE JUXTAPOSE THE VOYAGE OF THE PILGRIMS ON THE MAYFLOWER WITH THE APOSTLE PAUL IN BONDS UPON A PRISON SHIP, BOUND FOR ROME, FOR WITH THE JEWS DESIRING TO KILL HIM, HE APPEALED TO CEASAR TO BE TRIED IN ROME. WE WILL FIND IN THE PILGRIMS WEAKNESS BECAUSE OF THE TREACHEROUS JOURNEY, GOD AGAIN AND AGAIN DELIVERED THEM. FOR EXAMPLE, WILLIAM BRADFORD, WHO BECAME THE GOVERNOR OF THE PLYMOUTH PLANTATION IN MASSACHUSETTS WROTE AN ACCOUNT OF THEIR JOUNEY AND THEIR HABITATION ENTITLED ‘OF THE PLYMOUTH PLANTATION 1620-1647’ WHERE HE WRITES OF AN INCIDENT WHERE ONE OF THE PASSENGERS ABORAD THE MAYFLOWER ROUTINELY MOCKED THE CHRISTIANS, FOR ONLY 35 OF THE 102 PASSENGERS WERE OF THE FLOCK OF JOHN ROBINSON THEIR PASTOR. THE ACCOUNT OF THIS INCIDENT READS AS FOLLOWS FROM WILLIAM BRADFORD’S BOOK: “ These troubles being blown over, and now all being compact together in one ship, they put to sea again with a prosperous wind, which continued divers days together, which was some encouragement unto them; yet, according to the usual manner, many were afflicted with seasickness. And I may not omit here a special work of God's providence. There was a proud and very profane young man, one of the seamen, of a lusty, able body, which made him the more haughty; he would alway be contemning the poor people in their sickness and cursing them daily with grievous execrations; and did not let to tell them that he hoped to help to cast half of them overboard before they came to their journey's end, and to make merry with what they had; and if he were by any gently reproved, he would curse and swear most bitterly. But it pleased God before they came half seas over, to smite this young man with a grievous disease, of which he died in a desperate manner, and so was himself the first that was thrown overboard. Thus his curses light on his own head, and it was an astonishment to all his fellows for they noted it to be the just hand of God upon him.” GOD MADE IT CLEAR TO THE OTHER PASSENGERS ABOARD THAT HE SUBDUES THEIR ENEMIES AND THAT THEY AUGHT TO BE CAREFUL WHAT THEY SAY AND DO TO THESE PILGRIMS. LIKEWISE WE WILL FIND THAT GOD WORKED IN THE SAME WAY FOR THE APOSTLE PAUL, BEING HELD AS A PRISONER, ABOARD A PRISON SHIP, BOUND TO ROME. IT IS OF UTMOST NECESSITY THAT WE AS AMERICAN PARENTS TEACH OUR CHILDREN THE HISTORY OF REFORMATION COUPLED WITH ITS DOCTRINE FOR THE LEFT POLITICALLY AND THE LEFT CHURCH DESIRES TO ERASE IT. IT IS THE DOCTRINE OF THESE PILGRIMS AND PURITANS THAT CAME TO AMERICA THAT UNDERGIRDED THE MOMENTAL FUTURE SUCCESS OF AMERICA. THIS DOCTRINE OF THE BONDAGE OF THE WILL MUST AGAIN BECOME DOMINANT IN AMERICA, AND WHEN THAT HAPPENS THE TRUE KING JESUS WILL AGAIN BE DOMINANT.
