Trauma-Informed Tantra/Why Your Nervous System Needs to Be The Top Priority

from The Vital Goddess · host Dianne Shepherd

An exciting trend is happening across industries and across the globe. The learning curve on all things trauma and how it impacts our lives and how we relate to each other has been steep over the past few years. As challenging as it can be, folks all over the world are rising to the occasion to learn and heal together. That’s a beautiful thing and I feel such an essential step in human evolution.Trauma awareness has come leaps and bounds. And yet we still have a long way to go. In the work I do, I realized pretty early on that learning about trauma, how the body stores trauma and how we begin to unravel it is essential to supporting my clients and to continue to do my own healing work.I know it sounds cliche but what I’ve found to be truer each each year is that healing is a journey, not a destination. It’s not a straight line either. There are layers and spirals. And we’re not meant to go it alone.Nervous system support must be an integral part of any holistic sexuality program. To truly get a deeper embodied experience of pleasure and multi-orgasmic states, cultivating calm is the master key. We can't expand our capacity to receive pleasure, hold pleasure in our system and expand our orgasmic experience from a hyper aroused state of the nervous system. For real and lasting success in this work, and for you to truly embody the Goddess you were born to be your nervous system needs to be the top priority. As a trauma-informed Tantra coach I've become quite a nervous system nerd. And there's always more to learn. Always.Let's learn together! In this episode I riff on:why Tantra spaces need to be trauma-informed.how creating safe space is a co-creation and partnershipwhy sensuality is the frontier of the wellness industryawareness is the first step: the Polyvagal Theory Curve; a map for nervous system awarenesswhy we need to cultivate calm in this workthe role of Vagal Tone in finding our calm and cultivating orgasmthe hyper-aroused state of sexuality in the status quoknowing how to resource yourself and down-regulate your nervous systemthe power of breathworkthe power of shaking medicine/ basic shake and deep shakeWant to dive deeper?Download The Polyvagal Curve/ a map to your amazing nervous systemWatch This Great Video Explaining The Polyvagal Theory by Seth PorgesCheck Out My Basic Shaking Medicine Practice (Video)Download My Shaking Medicine Playlist on SpotifyBook Your Free Pleasure Queen Activation SessionLearn More About The Vital Goddess MastermindJoin My Free Breathwork Membership
