Travel is a Journey: What is Travel? - ep 1
from Travel Create Repeat · host Roxanne Patruznick
What is Travel series: The many ways of looking at TravelTravel can mean so many things. It’s more than going from one place to another, and it’s greater than having an experience. It can be a physical movement from A to B, but it can also be a mental and emotional process. Travel can be contained in a moment through a memory or daydream. We can travel via our senses, through space and time. We travel in stories and art. We travel outward as well as inwards. And we don’t have to go very far to have a transformative experience. After living as a nomad since 2017, I am interested in exploring the multitudes of what travel is along with expanding our way of looking at it. When you think of travel, what are the first things that come to mind? Maybe you envision a vacation to Europe or the Tropics or some faraway place. Maybe a business trip or a retreat of some kind? There are so many reasons why we might be drawn to travel. A vacation, rest, retreat, business, school, escape, a spiritual journey, a bucket list, a long-time dream and so much more.I invite you to join me in this exploration of travel, taking a deeper look at more possibilities of what it can be and ways travel can be even more meaningful. How my podcasts are madeIf it’s a Solo podcast I’ll start with a script that I write myself, usually by hand and then typed into my computer. Then I record in my podcast video/audio editor. I use my computer camera and a separate mic.I edit in my podcast video/audio editor. The editor tools I use may enhance the sound if there were any recording issues: tuning up the volume or minimizing background noise. I edit sound using both the transcript as well as the wav file. There are many AI bells and whistles in my editing software which I don’t really use, as I’m wanting to create something human. Handmade is my esthetic. For the video editing, I lay public domain/royalty free images and video on top of parts of my recorded video. I also use some of my own images and videos. Each image and video clip is hand-placed by me. I am making all the creative decisions every step of the way. When I record a podcast interview with another person it’s pretty much the same as above. Instead of a script I start with a general outline with questions. When editing an interview, I’ll probably use fewer images for the sake of time and emphasize images of the guests’ artwork or anything else that I feel would enhance the interview. If you have any questions about how I make my podcasts, please reach out.
