Travels With Mom by Larry Massett

This piece is relatively simple but it fits the saying that audio is a good way to explore the space in between the ears.  Larry Massett has been working in public radio since “its beginnings” and served as a senior producer and host of Hearing Voices, a truly pioneering show that shaped the careers and sound of many, many audiomakers.  While we’ll surely feature many pieces of Massett’s work on Selects, Travels With Mom has a quiet force to it.  Exploring the unique relationship between a child and their elderly parent, we hear Massett both resigned that some adventures will never come, and finding beauty in others that are closer to home.  Old people are always incredible on the radio and here we’re treated to a mother on a literal journey down memory lane..  Check out Larry Massett on himself in this Transom article.
