In which our narrator, battling a spiteful little coracle and aided by a fortuitous tide, effects a daring escape from the anchored Hispaniola amidst the drunken quarrels of its crew. As the schooner is swept seaward by an unrelenting current, he drifts into a restless, sea-tossed slumber haunted by thoughts of home and the distant Admiral Benbow.
