Treasuring Christ - Loving Him Above All

1 Chronicles 29:10-18   Four Reality Checks . . .   Everything is God's, and nothing is mine. "Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is Yours.  Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and You are exalted as head above all.  Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all.  In Your hand are power and might, and in Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all."  1 Chronicles 29:11-12   I have nothing to offer God that He has not already given to me.  "O LORD our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building You a house for Your holy name comes from Your hand and is all Your own."  1 Chronicles 29:16    There is nothing that you or I will give to God where His response will be, "Where did you get that?!?"   Because I am to manage wisely all that He has given to me, I should constantly ask, "What do I do with all you have entrusted to me?"   All that I have, and what I do with it, will reveal the true condition of my heart. "For where your treasure is there your heart will be also."  Matthew 6:21 Your heart does not wander from your treasure.   God blesses those who hold His treasures with open hands and find joy in the grace of giving. "I know, my God, that You test the heart and have pleasure in uprightness.  In the uprightness of my heart I have freely offered all these things, and now I have seen Your people, who are present here, offering freely and joyously to You." 1 Chronicles 29:17   "Then the people rejoiced because they had given willingly, for with a whole heart they had offered freely to the LORD.  David the king also rejoiced greatly."  1 Chronicles 29:9   The Invitation . . .   God is inviting us to leverage what He has given us to manage, for His kingdom purposes.
