Finding something thought lost can restore joy and make things feel right again. Jesus compares God's kingdom to hidden treasure that fills a man with such joy that he sells everything and buys the field. Yet joy alone can wither when hardship comes unless the good news takes deep root through understanding. The kingdom is free, though Christ's sacrifice was not cheap.
