Trek Talk - Episode 93 - Orville and Pre-Incursion Conflict

from Trek Talk with Tech and Kirk · host Techman16

Hosts: Techman16, StrangeKirk, Handy, Boomslang Guests: GrandAdmiralKey, DogsOfWar, WarWizard, PonchoJimmy (34), MadamStarGazer (66) Topics Discussed: 0:00 - What do we eat at the start of the show, and has Boom murdered a woman? Let's just not report felonies here... 1:52 - Orville talk! Relevant subjects and GOOD sci-fi! 7:46 - Orville aging, and retconing, such as with Strange New Worlds. 9:42 - Orville crew vs Strange New Worlds. Orville the crew tends to carry out what is asked, on Strange New Worlds Pike seems to be the guy who knows and leads, and explains things to everyone else. 12:03 - Orville introduces a female dominated culture, and also goes very dark with the origin of the Kaylon's in a callback to just how brutal people can be, and what danger to the oppressors that brutality can represent. Really REALLY dark! 21:18 - Server 34, another war! Dark and Wolf versus NONA, because...who else? And with incursion looming too, for shame! 27:15 - Nobody cares about Server 34 anymore according to StrangeKirk, and he's probably right. ;-) 28:37 - For whatever reason, OlazyeeOne and Burto have a hard-on for NONA, according to Techman. 31:08 - DogsOfWar supposedly has funny ship names. Would love to hear them sometime! ;-) 33:56 - DogsOfWar also doesn't know what's going on with the current Dark and Wolf versus NONA conflict. Techman will tell us what he knows based on his conversation with Incho. 35:28 - WarWizard sheds some light on the conflict, finally, including the Burto vs Parzival piece. 41:25 - Burto was booted from NONA, and then he apparently helped cause this conflict with NONA. Hmmmm... 42:57 - Handy interjects to give his perspective on the drama. 44:08 - How did peace talks go between Handy and Kevin (who TF is Kevin?). 48:13 - Conflict seems to have started when NONA and Dark stopped being allies. 49:02 - How else do you keep the rage if you don't keep fighting?!? Plus, in game hate can be fun and breathe life into you! 55:44 - Right now is the war going to continue, and is it expected to continue through Incursions? 57:07 - Tech feels that permanent hate, even if it's game hate, is exhausting. He's so very, very, very wrong. 59:40 - The actual exhausting part, according to Handy, is trying to resolve the issue with someone. 1:00:55 - Poncho joins to talk about the potential impact conflict could have on Incursion for S34 and what happened from his perspective. 1:05:51 - Do these conflicts mostly come from whale driven issues? 1:06:23 - Also, who the fuck is Burto? 1:11:06 - Ultimately, from NONA's perspective, Burto dry-hitting is what led to the conflict flaring up. 1:13:19 - With regards to the Incursion, StrangeKirk feels the conflict needs to be set aside so that the server can win. 1:17:13 - Server 45 dysfunction is even worse than Server 34's, but Server 34 should be able to bury the hatchet at least during Incursion. 1:22:08 - As much as StrangeKirk dislikes a lot of the game anymore, he's actually looking forward to Incursion! And then the audio cuts out. 1:28:49 - When is the first Incursion? It was Tuesday July 19th for US Servers (July 18th for APAC, July 20th for EU). 1:31:14 - Server 66 had the level cap removed with the incursions update and things have gone hog wild! Human sacrifice! Dogs and cats living together! Mass hysteria!
