Kavi Raz is Engineering A Future for South Asian Filmmakers Kavi Raz only appeared once in Star Trek history, but his story beyond this sci-fi franchise is what makes him truly fascinating.  Kavi appeared as Lt. Jg. Singh from the Star Trek TNG episode "Lonely Among Us," but his humble beginnings make his trip to the stars even more exciting. We learn about the journey that took him from Punjab, India, to England and Hollywood, being an engineer in real life before he played one on a starship, learning acting from Hedy Sontag, forming The Wandering Players theater troupe to bring authentic Indian theatre to L.A., and more about his past.   From there, it's onto our Trek talk, including a reveal of which leading role he initially auditioned for (and almost got), working on Stephen King's "Pet Cemetery" film with Denise Crosby, and what it was like walking through a Starship. Kavi also talks to us about his time on "General Hospital" and "M.A.S.H."
