Trendspek - Derek Feebrey: Precision Reality

My guest in this episode is Derek Feebrey, the CEO and cofounder of Trendspek, an asset intelligence software for the commercial property sector. Derek and his co-founders Fiona Church and Mitchell Deam, are all former commercial airline pilots - previously with Qantas - who fell into proptech by establishing one of Australia’s first businesses to own and operate drones, back in the day when you actually needed to be a commercial pilot to operate one. They realised the potential of drone footage to capture property assets - especially for assets that were difficult or dangerous to send an inspector up a rope, and for large scale infrastructure projects. But over the past six years the business has now morphed into what they call ‘precision asset intelligence’ which is a complete asset identification, tracking and management solution, with drone footage being just one small part of what they do.
