TRINITY SITE EXPLOSION, 0.016 second after detonation, VII.16.1945. The hemisphere's highest point is about 200 meters above ground zero. The AVIAN soloists featured in "TRINITY, a soundpoem," are the Tree Swallow, the Spirit or Varied Thrush, & the Hermit Thrush. Recorded at HEARTBREAK MEADOW, OREGON. The former two species no longer return to the meadow in spring, evidently because of the Sudden Aspen Decline (SAD), and other disruptive effects of a hotter, drier climate.
