Mycket har skrivits om japansk whisky de senaste åren vilket gjort den populärare än någonsin och priserna har skjutit i höjden. Idag är det sällsynt att ett japanskt destilleri släpper en whisky som har en åldersangivelse på flaskan, de har nämligen alldeles för lite kvar i lagerhusen för att kunna släppa en 12 och 18 årig whisky i någon meningsfull kvantitet.
