On April 16, Troy Athletic celebrated their stars at the 12th annual Trojan tributes ceremony this week in Trojan Arena. Zay Diarr-Grav-Fimo Athlete of the Year for the second straight time in women's basketball, while Branley Scott took male Athlete of the year in. Men's Golf! The men's golf team earned top team honors after punching their ticket to the NCAA tournament last spring.
Diarr shattered the single-season rebound record with 422 boards and ranked second nationally in double doubles. She powered Troy to their first WBIT bid and Snag's Sunbell defensive player of the year plus first team nods. Scott made history as Troy's first All-American golfer since 1993, setting program records and scoring average and stroke play, while qualifying for U.S. Open Regionals.
Track and Field standout Katie Schweets embodied the ideal student athlete, winning the Trojan Way Leadership Award for her campus and community. Impact. Academic got shined too, with Sorel Awards for Top Female GPAs going to cross-country's McKenna Calvert, Soccer's Elena Uncaffer, and Schweets.
Again, Clement's Awards hit baseball's Gavin Schrader and tracks Jonas Culturina for males. Volleyball and men's golf claimed Team GPA crowns.
