On March 19, Troy University's men's basketball team saw their 2025-26 season end in the first round of the NCAA tournament, falling 76-47 against Nebraska on Thursday. The Trojans started strong with an early lead, thanks to sharp three-point shooting from Victor Valdez and Cooper Campbell, but Nebraska's tough. Interior defense limited Troy to just 28% from the field overall. Troy coach Scott Cross praised his team's effort against a strong opponent, noting they got some good looks early, but couldn't keep up with the Huskers' momentum, which included hot three-point shooting that built a big halftime edge.
Victor Valdez led Troy with 14 points and a career-high four threes, while Thomas Dow grabbed nine rebounds to tie for the game high and wrap, up a Troy Division I record of 343 for the season. Though Troy drops to 0-4 all-time in the tournament and winless against Nebraska, their 22 wins and 12 losses mark a solid. Campaign that had fans proud of the fight, shown right to the final buzzer.
