I have my friend Troy on the podcast. He talks about growing up with parents in the military and joining the Marine corps in his mid-20s while battling with severe alcoholism and drug addiction. Despite having a respectable rank in the military (including being deployed to Afghanistan) his long career in the service had to end due to his drinking. Troy was able to enter treatment with the help of the military in San Diego. Troy has been clean and sober since May 5th 2019.
