True Crime & Coffee: Cyanide Iced Coffee Case + Bleach in the Coffee Pot | Sip & Share
from Coffee Beanery | Sip & Share
Britain and Patti are diving into true crime today (thanks to Savannah’s excellent suggestion)! We start with a quick update on our recent color analysis — Patti is a deep/winter (jewel tones) and Britain is a soft/muted palette — and how it’s already changing the way we look at our closets. Then we get into the main event: true crime stories that actually involve coffee. Case 1: The 2016 Indonesian cyanide coffee murder A woman dies after sipping Vietnamese iced coffee in Jakarta. Her friend is convicted and sentenced to 20+ years, but there’s major controversy — no autopsy was performed and the forensic evidence is questioned. There’s a Netflix documentary on this one. Case 2: The Arizona bleach poisoning A military husband stationed in Germany notices his coffee tastes off. He tests it, finds chlorine, sets up cameras once they’re back in the U.S., and catches his wife pouring bleach into the coffee pot. Motive? Military benefits during a messy divorce. Her sentence? Only probation. We also touch on local cases, drunk-driving tragedies, a personal landlord/squatter nightmare, jury duty stories, books we’re reading, and classic drive-in movie memories. Galaxy Swirl (toasted marshmallow) is still flying off the shelves — pods are almost gone! If you love coffee and murder shows (and about three people), this one’s for you. Drop your favorite true crime recommendation in the comments. Thanks for hanging out — see you next week! #CoffeeBeanery #SipAndShare #TrueCrime #CoffeeAndCrime #ForensicFiles #MurderShows
