In both of them, something was watching him, and it was not human.Tyler's first story takes place in the remote wilderness of Arnhem Land in Australia, one of the most ancient and spiritually significant landscapes on earth. Tyler and a friend were camped there when they heard a scream that had no business coming from anything living. Then they saw a face in the shadows at the edge of their camp. Not an animal. Not a person. Something else entirely was watching them from the dark. When they investigated, there were no tracks. No signs of anything that could have been there. Nothing to explain what they had seen or heard.Then Tyler takes us back home to Oak Cliff in Dallas, Texas, where a car accident outside his apartment building claimed three lives in a single night.
