Trump Drops Tariff on Irish Whiskey | Spokane News

Trump shocks the world at a golf event in Ireland, announcing the U.S. will scrap the 10% tariff on Irish whiskey — a move welcomed by the Irish Whiskey Association as a major win in their push for zero tariffs on all spirits exports. This reversal follows a complex trade saga that saw tariffs fluctuate from 15% to 10%, amid legal challenges and shifting U.S. trade policy. While this is a big boost for Ireland’s iconic whiskey industry, the fight isn’t over — they’re still aiming for full tariff-free access.
