Trump Honors 911 Heroes with Steel Beam | Durham News

President Trump honored the victims of 9/11 at a solemn ceremony, pledging to never forget the day’s sacrifice and resilience. He unveiled a steel beam from the fallen World Trade Center, part of a national tour honoring firefighter Stephen Siller, and declared it a symbol of unbreakable American strength. The event also spotlighted two heroes: Coast Guard reservist Jeffrey Palazzo, whose name will grace a new cutter, and Welles Crowther, the “man in the red bandanna,” posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by his family. Trump shared personal memories of Ground Zero and was joined by Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, whose firm lost hundreds in the attacks — a testament to enduring courage and rebuilding.
