Gold is back over near $2,700 per ounce after just delivering its biggest weekly gain since October 2023. This comes as the dollar is also strong. And so are bond yields. And so is the S&P. And so is Bitcoin. Can everything stay strong forever? We look at the dollar through the lens of an incoming Trump presidency and the announcement of a Department of Government Efficiency. We’re old enough to remember his last term though, when the money supply and the debt both expanded, and the dollar sank after he took office.
