Trump Picks Matt Gaetz for Attorney General and Gaetz Promptly Resigns From Congress

In a move that caused an eruption of REPUBLICAN in-fighting, Donald Trump named Matt Gaetz as his pick for Attorney General of the United State of America. Politicians, left, right and center, promptly spoke out in recognition of one unassailable truth - Gaetz is not qualified to be AG.So what's really going on here? Well, the House Ethics Committee was preparing to release an ethics investigation into Gaetz this Friday. But if Gaetz resigned from Congress, the House loses its jurisdiction over him, such that the ethics report would never see the light of day. So . . . Gaetz resigned from Congress after just winning reelection.Interestingly, other members of Congress - Senator Rubio and Rep. Stefanik, for example - were named as Trump picks and they DIDN'T resign from Congress.
