Trump tariffs breed uncertainty for local beef sector

from RNZ - All Programmes

Donald Trump's announced further tariff changes via social media - this time around the importation of beef. The US president says he's allowing 300,000 tonnes of ground beef to be imported with lower tariffs for the next 90 days - which will then be sold at 25 per cent below market price. It's because he wants to bring the price of beef down for Americans. Beef & Lamb New Zealand chairperson Kate Acland spoke with Ingrid Hipkiss.
