Trump to Attend Rescheduled White House Correspondents’ Dinner; US Imposes Forced Labor Tariffs

from NTD News Today

President Donald Trump will attend the rescheduled White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Friday, nearly three months after a shooting abruptly ended the event. The suspect fired a shotgun outside the ballroom where Trump and members of his Cabinet were taking their seats. He pleaded not guilty in May to charges including attempting to assassinate the president.Trump has said the rescheduling of the dinner was “a sign of strength and fortitude.”The United States imposed new tariffs between 10 percent and 12.5 percent on Friday on imports from more than 60 trading partners, citing concerns that they had failed to prevent goods made with forced labor from entering U.S. supply chains. Countries around the world have pushed back.
