Trust Or Fear

“And He said to them, ‘Why are you afraid? How is it that you have no faith?’” (Mark 4:40) Fear births distrust, while love births trust. They are opposites: trust awakens love, and distrust awakens fear. When fear captures your attention, your little ‘i’ is transformed into a self-serving self. When love is recognized as your new self, you trust the only resource needed, the Spirit of God. Love leads us to rest in what God does in, by, and through us. Your choice: trust God or fear. Father, the greatest fear is to leave this life without You owning me. Each moment of embracing self-effort distrusts Your abilities to accomplish Your ends on this earth. Father trusted You, Jesus, by placing His will into Your hands. In His death, the root of doubt was severed. Trust is the foundation of our union—the composite of living as one now and forever more.
