Welcome to Day 24 of our Jabez Prayer Journey! Trusting God with Every Shade of Hurt. The final request Jabez makes is rich in meaning—across all translations, it’s a longing for protection from harm, evil, and pain in all their forms. Sometimes we pray to be kept from sickness, accidents, or financial loss. Other times, it’s a plea to be shielded from targeted attacks or spiritual oppression. There’s also a deeper cry: “God, remind me who you are. Are you for me? Merciful Father God, don’t let sorrow define my story.” Jesus assures us that his purpose is not to bring pain, but abundant life, so may the life of Christ, the anointed one living in us, break any generational cycles or curses. Heavenly Father,Thank you for being the God who sees every hurt and hears every cry. Keep us from harm, evil, and anything that would bring pain or sorrow. Protect us from sickness, loss, and spiritual oppression. Remind us of your heart—always for us, never against us. Let your gentleness guide us so we never become a source of pain to others. Heal what’s broken in us and keep us from repeating cycles of hurt. Like Jabez, we ask for freedom, protection, and the power of a transformed life that demonstrates your goodness to all. Amen.
