Yes, this was a great institution from 1980 to 2000, and then the decline in quality of care and management costs escalated to catastrophic proportions. One in five people living in the UK directly or indirectly depend on the NHS to earn and live. If the NHS collapses, the number of people who suffer is unimaginable.As a doctor, I raised concern not to criticise but to protect patient care and help the NHS survive. The managers, doctors and people in power were blind and inflicted punitive sanctions to destroy my passion and credibility, but they failed. My faith and determination to bring about changes have now manifested.
