Truth & Persecution
from Behold I stand at the door and knock... · host Fr Paul Chandler
Christ our Lord experiences one of the many occasions of rejection and violence during His public ministry as we continue to read from St Luke's Gospel. This is not exceptional because we know that there were many other such occasions, culminating in His Passion and Death. What is unique about this episode is that it is from those who knew Him better than most, the people of Nazareth where He grew up.That He would be rejected in his home town moves our human emotions but we must also look further into the significance of this event and how it fits into the humanly tragic and divinely redemptive story of salvation.
