In keeping with her Minneapolis roots, she brushed with being a Prince protégé and wound up collaborating extensively with Jesse Johnson. Here she dishes on the entire Minneapolis music scene as well as her successful singing brother Carl Carwell, George Clinton, P-Funk and funk music in general.
