Truth Makes Enemies (Galatians 4:16)

from Wrestling with Theology · host Rev. Doug Minton

"Have I then become your enemy by telling you the truth?" (Galatians 4:16). Christians have the Truth because Jesus is the Truth (John 14:6). This is the biggest problem for Christians in this world. The truth makes enemies. People want things sugar-coated so they don't have to face the truth head-on. The truth does make enemies and strains relationships. But this is not how God created relationships. God designed relationships to be based on truth. God's relationship with Adam and Eve was based on truth. But sin has destroyed our trust in truth. Especially absolute truth. But Jesus is the absolute truth. The Bible gives us that truth. It will make enemies because some don't want to hear it. But the truth sets people free when they accept it (John 8:32). Amen.
